Today I caught myself being way too caught up in the future and all the excitement that it holds, such as…
2 days till 2 beautiful friends are here.
1 ½ months till my dear JOY-gift counting friend is back home, here (:
2 months till I’m at GC for graduation, reunited with sweet friends
under 3 months till wedding #1 of the fabulous five
and I could keep going…
But I must be.here.now. Because that is the only way we live correctly…so, a personal Psalm of JOY and thanksgiving, started in class tonight and continued now, and always continuing…(plus a fun way for you to see what I’ve been up to lately…)
For sunny skies and soon-coming friends,
For grocery lists and work schedules,
For disappointments and moments alone with You,
For geese and books and laughter,
I thank You.
For Monday night classes and laundry,
For Bible poetry and future plans,
For heartbreak and unexpected mail,
For lost hours and gained love,
For invites and dinners and popcorn,
I thank You.
For sweet tea and French fries,
For quiet waters and RedBox and wine and Tina Fey,
For being content and night-time stars,
For pillows and “I love you’s,”
For forgiveness and weird dreams and life-revelations,
God, I thank You.
For grace and long-distance friends,
For Lent and rising gas prices,
For photos and iced chai tea,
For surveys and coupons and frozen yogurt,
Thank You!
For reminders and long drives,
For sunsets and prayers,
For being okay alone and missing Mom and Dad,
For running and singing,
For crying and beaming,
For hoping and dreaming,
Count it all JOY.
Thank You, Jesus.
My prayer for you? May you also count it all JOY. (James 1:2-3)
